Foraging With Emily
THE WALK
Based in the surrounds of Lathe Barn, we will focus on what's in-season and readily available in much of the country. During the walk we will be focusing on spring greens and the first spring flowers for food and folk medicines. You will hear about common folktales, the many uses of each plant and learn easy tips to help you start foraging by yourself.
We will end with a delicious lunch prepared over the campfire using some of what we discover on our walk.
MY HERBAL ROOTS
I first discovered foraging after stumbling upon a farm that housed an amazing forager - Justine Gens. She introduced me to foraging and I very quickly fell in love with finding wild foods and medicines in the plants around me.
Everything I do is rooted in connection to the land. I'm passionate about foraging, growing, crafting herbal medicines and generally embracing a wilder sort of lifestyle. My absolute favourite thing in the world is to share the joy and medicine of the plants with others. This is the peoples medicine!
Everyone that learns with me is out with their hands in the dirt, picking plants and crafting their own medicines from scratch. It's really the best way to spend a day!
