Selson Farm sits in a gentle valley on the eastern edge of the North Downs in Kent. You’ll be surrounded by beautiful apple, pear and cherry orchards, with plenty of asparagus fields nearby too. The camping field itself is a good four-acres, completely flat and lined with trees for shade and shelter.
David is an ex-army Major and runs the farm. It was bought by his grandfather in the 1920s, who became a renowned English fruit grower. With a spread of crops, there’s always something being harvested in most of the summer. In May, you can pick fresh asparagus and there’s early apples in August. All of the produce is sold locally, either at the farm gate or in farm shops and greengrocers. Our apples and pears also end up in the big supermarkets.
Lathe Barn is our newer campsite offering. It boasts over 10 acres of sprawling grounds, situated only two miles inland from the stunning Dymchurch seafront. It also benefits from incredible views of the surrounding hills and you can even see Lympne Castle too. It’s an absolutely wonderful spot to stay with the family, with plenty of activities happening on the grounds and loads of things to do nearby.
We’re a family-focused campsite with lots to keep the kids busy. After all, happy kids mean happy parents. We also welcome couples and small group bookings too (of up to four tent pitches/bell tents).
The Retreat has lots of board games, outdoor games and colouring to keep the little ones occupied. There’s even a fabulous table tennis table available too. We also run kids films on a Saturday and Wednesday in school holidays, yoga for kids and adults, and Bushcraft classes on Saturdays. Foraging courses can also be booked on several dates throughout the summer.
We have a camp shop selling lots of camping basics, fresh local meat, bread and other produce. There’s also catering from The Field Kitchen where you can enjoy a variety of delicious food at the weekend. You can check out our What’s On page for more information.
At Fallow Fields, we love a campfire. We think there’s nothing better than sitting around, toasting marshmallows and watching the sun go down while tending the flames. We welcome campfires and BBQs at both sites but these must be raised off the ground in a fire pit. We have fire pits available for hire and sell logs and kindling on site. We advise you to pre-book a fire pit when booking your pitch.
We’ve been kindly supported by the following funds to help us set up brand new showers and toilets at the Selson Farm Campsite.
